The conference

Variety mixtures, heterogeneous populations and species co-cultivation (for example cereal–legume associations) are increasingly recognised as key levers for agroecological transition. These approaches can substantially reduce reliance on pesticides and synthetic fertilisers while improving yield stability under growing climatic uncertainty. This conference aims to bring together the international scientific community engaged in research on crop diversification. The event will showcase the latest scientific advances in crop mixtures and foster dialogue among international research groups working on varietal and species diversification. It also seeks to strengthen the interdisciplinary collaborations needed to explore emerging scientific questions and to address the technical, agronomic and socio-economic challenges limiting the wider adoption of these practices.
